  • There are so many reasons Kathy Petrino really likes to write about her prolific travel on her blog. For one thing, she is generous and she likes to share. Not only does she want to visit as many great places as possible in her lifetime, but she wants to share her experiences in a way that makes others want to see the same things. There is also a desire on Kathy’s part to make sure er readers avoid many of the missteps she has made on some trips. The primary reason Kathy Petrino likes to writes about every aspect of her trips is so others have as much fun as she has. And one of her favorite destinations is anywhere o Florida’s Emerald Coast.

Kathy Petrino is well aware that the Emerald Coast, which is Florida’s northern Gulf Coast, was referred to for a long time as the “Redneck Riviera,” but she also wants readers to know that recent years have brought a lot of change. Over the years, the fine sand and funky beach towns have taken on a new personality. In recent years, celebrities and “beautiful people” have adopted the region and spurred a much-needed revitalization, to the point that the region is now called the “Emerald Coast” of Florida. These days, the rich and famous hope beyond that not everyone has gotten the word that the affordable slice of Florida is also gaining much when it comes to class.

In that time, savvy investors have been revitalizing the area with new hotels and condo buildings, including the first-ever five-star resort, called Henderson Beach Resort. So many investments are being made that the town of Seaside (or ‘Seahaven’, for fans of the movie, The Truman Show) has been transformed into one of the most beautiful and eco-friendly towns in Florida; their 80 acres are now being studied in architecture schools. It’s a great place to visit and you might want to live there.
